Professional scissors are an investment. A few simple habits can help protect your CCH Scissors and keep them cutting smoothly.

 

DAILY CARE

CHECK TENSION. OIL DAILY.

Clean them. Wipe the blades clean after use to remove hair and product buildup.

Check your tension. Proper tension helps your scissors cut cleanly and reduces unnecessary wear on the blades.

Oil daily. Apply a small amount of scissor oil around the pivot area, open and close the scissors several times, then wipe away any excess.

Store them properly. Keep your scissors protected when they're not in use to help prevent damage to the blades.

 

PROFESSIONAL SHARPENING

WHEN SHOULD I SHARPEN MY SCISSORS?

There isn’t one sharpening schedule that works for every stylist. How often your scissors need sharpening depends on how frequently you use them and how they’re maintained.

If your scissors aren’t feeling or cutting like they normally do, check the tension first. If the tension is properly adjusted and they’re still pushing or folding the hair, losing their smooth cutting action, or simply don’t feel right, it may be time to have them professionally sharpened.
